Labor Temple sets up solidarity table to help those in need

Food Table PicDULUTH, Minn. — The Labor Temple set up a Solidarity food table for those struggling with the SNAP cut-off.

A table with food and toiletries has been set up on London Road outside the building.

People can grab what they need for free, no questions asked.

Anyone with goods to spare can also drop them off.

“We have a committee called workers aid in our union that tries to help folks in the community, and we have a little food shelf over in Superior but we wanted something here in Duluth on this side of the bridge.” said Adam Ritscher, Volunteer with the United Steel Workers, “It’s been really encouraging to see all kinds of folks trying to find ways to help folks in their community to get through this crisis. It shouldn’t have to happen, but it’s cool that people are stepping up and trying to do what they can.”

They are considering setting up the Solidarity table each week and possibly even trying it at different locations in the Twin Ports area.
