Superior man caught in on-line vigilante child porn sting sentenced to three years in prison
SUPERIOR, Wis. – Joey Edward Scott, 62, Superior plead guilty to two counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
He was sentenced to three years in prison, follow by seven years of “Extended Supervision”.
For his guilty pleas on the two charges, the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office allowed two other charges of Possession of Child Pornography to be “Dismissed but Read In”.

A group called “Predator Poachers Illinois” originally made contact with Scott on-line and then went to his Superior home.
They recorded the conversation with Scott.
They then called Superior Police, who discovered the suspected child pornography on Scott’s phone.
Superior Police originally responded to Scott’s apartment on April 2, 2025 following a report from a caller who told police he was “associated with a citizen group from Illinois that attempts to catch child predators.” He said his partner, who “had been messaging with a Superior resident named Joey Scott…posing as an underage girl, age 13,” was at Scott’s apartment to confront him.
