Northern Star: Taye Manns
In Manns freshman season with the Royals, he led the team in rushing yards with 815.
DULUTH, Minn.- Former Duluth Denfeld running back Taye Manns has been tearing up the football field at the college level at Bethel.
In his freshman season with the Royals, Manns led the team in rushing yards with 815.
He also found the end zone 15 times this year.
But Manns doesn’t take all the credit for his breakout season.
“I would credit my whole offensive line and my offensive coordinator for giving me the chance to get the ball. The offensive line has been blocking amazing all year. So, I give a lot of credit to them,” said Manns.
But those who know Taye aren’t surprised that he is successful at the college level.
“I think this is what most of us who had been around Taye for the last year and half, to see how hard he was working, to see how he prepared at the high school level, but we weren’t surprised we knew he could play college football at this level.” Erik Lofald.
Even a notable Denfeld alumni has noticed that Manns has been making plays at the college level.
” CJ reached out a couple weeks ago just saying how great Taye was playing, so it’s really cool to see some of the best running backs in school history talk about each other,” said Lofald.
Manns ended his freshman regular season with taking on St. Scholastica at Walt Hunting Stadium for a homecoming reunion.
“It felt amazing to score in my high school end zone for the first time of the year, said Manns. “Some great flashbacks, I told the guys while we were up in the stands with the team watching that happen, and we just said hey man he did that so many times, one more time here at the college level.”
