Crews respond to early morning Central Hillside fire

DULUTH, Minn. — Crews responded to a vehicle fire Wednesday morning near the 400 block of East 8th Street.

The fire was reported around 5 a.m.

Fire officials said a person was sleeping in an RV when the fire broke out.

The person was evaluated at a hospital for smoke inhalation and is being assisted by the American Red Cross.

While an official cause is under investigation, Deputy Chief Jon Otis said the fire was likely cause by a heat source.
