Duluth Art Institute hosts parade watch party 4 floors above route
DULUTH, Minn. — While the Northland’s favorite holiday tradition travels along Superior St, the Duluth Art Institute, used the parade of lights next door to help raise money for the non-profit.
The institute offered cozy, aerial views of the Christmas City of the North Parade, welcoming guests in for a fundraising watch party.
The evening serves as a major fundraiser for the organization, who used the party to help reach their $60,000 goal and show off their latest exhibition.
“The Duluth Art Institute is very interested in many ways of generating revenue, and one of the things that we recognize is the absolute gift of this space that we’re in, and the ability for us to showcase one of the most beloved events in the Twin Ports, the Christmas City of the North parade,” said the institute’s Executive Director Christina Woods.
“We have put together a night of jewel tones, and metallics, and wonderful food for people to come and enjoy the parade right from our fourth-floor windows,” said Wood.
The evening featured a prime rib dinner, a jazz DJ and, most importantly for the hectic nature of the parade’s surroundings, reserved “stress free” parking.
