Inside the new Guardian Shooting Range in Superior
SUPERIOR, WI — Guardian Shooting Range in Superior is under new ownership and undergoing a major upgrade, with a remodel that doubles the building’s square footage and adds new training features for shooters of all skill levels. FOX 21’s Maria Vollom underwent some training and stepped into the indoor range to take her first pistol shot on Friday.
The facility now offers a modern showroom, a classroom for courses like concealed carry and self-defense, a lounge, and a simulator training room designed to ease beginners into the experience.
Staff members walk new shooters through stance, grip, aiming and safety procedures before entering the range, with a goal of taking the pressure and fear out of handling a firearm.
The simulator uses CO₂-powered laser firearms that recreate realistic recoil. It’s become a popular first step for anyone new to shooting, providing a way to learn positioning and build confidence before firing live rounds.
The business plans to continue expanding, with a brand-new shooting range expected to be built this spring.
