St. Louis County Rescue Squad assists in search for missing Canadian man

LAC LA CROIX, ONTARIO. — The St. Louis County Rescue Squad and Sheriff’s office assisted the Ontario Provincial Police in a search for a missing Lac La Croix man.

According to officials, 47-year-old Peter Buckle has been missing since November 20.

Buckle was using his cabin on the US side of Lake Lac La Croix when he went missing.

Canadian authorities checked his cabin and were unable to locate him, but were able to locate Buckle’s boat and campsite on Island 25, just over the Canadian border.

St Louis County resources were sent to the Lac La Croix village to help with air, water, and land search efforts.

Buckle was not found after an extensive search of the area.

The Sheriff’s office says they will stay in contact with Canadian Authorities and community members if they need any more assistance.
