Chester Chalet prepping to have new building by ’26-’27 winter season
DULUTH, Minn. — We could finally be seeing a new chalet at Chester Bowl come next winter.
The Chester Bowl team are finalizing design plans, and they intend to start contract bidding in February.
Once they award the contractor and close for the winter season on March 13th, construction can finally start rolling.
It’ll be about a six-month project, so they plan to be open for next winter in the new building.
“We’ve been building to this for a while, and the community has been supporting us, and we’re just so excited to be at the point where we’re finally almost ready to build. We just know the need is so high for a better, bigger, fully accessible building that to be able to be able to provide that is huge for us.” said Dave Schaeffer, Executive Director of Chester Bowl.
The new building will feature a Swiss chalet design outside similar to the current style.
But, with three floors and double the space, the new building is slated to be much more accessible, modern, and energy efficient.
