Kirby Board Program at UMD kicks off Turkey Eggstravaganza

DULUTH, Minn.– UMD students are burning off some pre-holiday steam, because the Kirby Board Program brought back its ‘Turkey Eggstravaganza’.

The annual hunt began four years ago to get students into some holiday fun.

40 little turkeys are scattered around campus, waiting to be found.

If students can’t find a turkey, they’re also holding a hand turkey contest.

Hand turkey prizes are a goody bag with a tie blanket kit and movie snacks…

And the turkey hunt grand prize is an afternoon at the Great Lakes Aquarium with 5 friends.

“It’s a really nice thing to do. A lot of people at this time are studying, prepping. And to give students an opportunity, we get lot of emails of fun friendly faces that say they found a turkey,” said Trevor Koenig, Traditions Chair, Kirby Board Program.

Students can continue to trot the halls for turkeys for the rest of the week, as well turning in hand turkey drawing submissions.

Submissions for both turkey numbers, and hand turkey drawings can be sent to the Kirby Program Board emailĀ .

The winners will be revealed on Friday.
