Lutsen expects to open first runs of the season Friday

LUTSEN, Min. – The team at Lutsen Mountains expect the first runs of the season to open on Friday, November 28, 2025.

They say the expected snow over Thanksgiving should be enough to open a few runs.

In a news release, “For opening day, our plan is to operate Raptor Express along with the Flapjack Conveyor, giving us a blend of options for both beginners and expert skiers. We’ll have beginner terrain available on Flapjack, which is the ideal area for easing into the season, taking those first turns of the winter, or getting comfortable on new gear.”

“On the more advanced side, Raptor Express is planned to provide access to upper intermediate level terrain, including Upper Bridge Run, River Run, and Brule.”

Grooming problems due to high winds could be an impediment to opening some runs earlier.
