Tuesday Morning Northland Forecast: 12/2/2025

A Windy Day with Light Snow

Gray is the weather color of the day. In the Twin Ports, the water and the lake reflect each other. And today, that color is just plain gray. A low pressure system and warm front will move from west to east across the area today, bringing with it slightly warmer temperatures, and some light snow. It won’t be much accumulation, maybe a half inch to an inch, with higher amounts on the South Shore, heading into the U.P. of Michigan, where they could see 3 to 4 inches. Of more significance today, will be the winds. They will be out of the SW, gusting to 20mph this afternoon. The wind will feel cold, and be quite annoying. Our high today will be about 20 degrees, which is well short of our average high of 29.

We are in a weather pattern where we get small shots of snow about every third day. After today’s snow, it will be sunny on Wednesday and Thursday, then more light snow on Friday. Then, it will be sunny for the weekend, with more light snow on Monday. Our temps will stay chilly, with highs in the teens on Wednesday and Thursday, and only about 12 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday. We will have some chilly nights coming up, with lows of -9 and -7 on Wednesday and Saturday night. It’s going to stay cold, too, as even by next Monday, we are only looking at highs in the upper teens.

It’s looking like the snow we have is here to stay, along with the cold temps. This may be the first ‘real’ winter we’ve had in the last 3. Dress in layers, and keep the shovels close by!
