Northwestern Volleyball Coach Charlie Hessel Retires After 21 Seasons

The Tigers went 22-9 this past season, including a 7-2 conference record.

MAPLE, Wis.- Longtime Northwestern head volleyball coach Charlie Hessel is retiring after 21 seasons at the helm.

He first took over in 1999 and proceeded to lead the Tigers to a conference title in 2003, 2006, and 2007, while also winning the regional championship in 2006.

Hessel then resigned after the 2007 season before eventually returning in 2014.

The Tigers went 22-9 this past season, including a 7-2 conference record.
