Lutsen residents address the loss of Lutsen Lodge and its lingering impact

LUTSEN, Minn.– Following the recent news regarding the Lutsen Lodge arson case, several community members told FOX 21, the potential bankruptcy, and the debt left behind, will impact numerous people.

That being said, they’re all still mourning the loss of the historic landmark.

One Lutsen resident is speaking out about the aftermath the charges bring the community.

“Losing that piece of history is kind of upsetting and sad, how old the building was and the loss of it, and what the resort brought to the area,” said Erin Filteau, a Lutsen resident. “Hopefully whoever gets it will rebuild it in the same essence that it was.”

Filteau went on to say, hopefully something will be built on that property sooner than later to help the Lutsen community recover from this loss.
