The Duluth Winter Village brings holiday cheer

DULUTH, Minn. — The DECC held its ninth annual Winter Village this weekend, transforming the inside and outside into a festive holiday market.

The two-day event featured dozens of huts filled with local vendors along Harbor Drive, a variety of food and sweet treats, and plenty of fun activities. This year, the DECC expanded the festivities by adding a much larger Tinsel Tavern. Each year, the Winter Village offers a fun and unique way to get some holiday shopping done while supporting small businesses across the Northland.

“It’s a huge weekend for vendors, I think, and for my shops, like we rely on the holiday season to kind of really get our businesses through the winter and coming up, and so it’s just huge to see so much support and people coming out and supporting our businesses,” said Aubrey DeBettignies, owner of The Altered Abode and Opie’s Place.

The Winter Village will be back next Dec., and for those who are still looking to do some local holiday shopping, the DECC has a list of the vendors on their website.
