Coffee Conversation: MN Ballet puts a Duluth twist on “The Nutcracker” this weekend
DULUTH, Minn. — The Nutcracker: A Duluth Tale returns to Symphony Hall at the DECC this weekend, bringing a magical Northland twist to the holiday classic.
Minnesota Ballet’s Karl von Rabenau and Juliana DeBellis stopped by the FOX 21 studio to share what audiences can expect from this year’s production.
The story follows Clara as her Nutcracker doll comes to life, sweeping her into a whimsical world filled with leaping lumberjacks, dancing gingerbreads, swirling snowflakes, and imagery inspired by Duluth’s winter charm.
This year’s show blends new creative elements with nods to the beloved traditional version—offering something special for both first-time viewers and longtime fans. With live music, vibrant choreography, and plenty of seasonal magic, A Duluth Tale promises to be a festive experience for the whole family.
