Arrowhead Ice Fishing and Winter Show brings excitement

DULUTH, Minn. — Vendors are busy setting up for the weekend-long Arrowhead Ice Fishing and Winter Show over at the DECC.

Each year, the show brings in thousands of people for the biggest ice fishing sales of the year.

The event will be ready to go, featuring thousands of products on the latest ice-fishing gear to winter apparel. People will have the opportunity to talk directly with factory reps and attend ice box seminars sharing expert tips.

“We’re starting off this year with a ton of cold ice that’s ready to be fished on,” said Steve Hanson, representative for Eskimo and Ion. “And this event, because of the timing of it, we know winter’s set in, and so a lot of people are coming here, like I said, with the family getting geared up for literally, the next day, they’re going to go out and fish.”

People can take a break from shopping by checking out the frozen basin, Twiggy the Water-Skiing Squirrel, or playing some ice bocce.
