AMSOIL Arena ready to host World Juniors Pre-Tournament Series
DULUTH, Minn. — Future hockey stars are getting ready to take center ice in the World Juniors Pre-Tournament Series taking place at AMSOIL Arena.
Before the puck drops in the Twin Cities for the World Juniors Tournament, cities across the state are hosting exhibition games for the competing teams.
Duluth’s series consists of Teams USA, Finland and Germany.
AMSOIL Arena is ready to host American and international fans as they cheer on their teams.
The tournament also looks to have a big economic impact, as fans can explore what Duluth has to offer.
Local youth hockey teams are also excited to watch the future generation of hockey talent.
“We’ve been getting phone calls where teams want to come and bring all their small hockey players who definitely want to see these young men out here playing. It’s an aspirational event for them, Lucie Amundsen, DECC Communications Director said. “This is a real once in a lifetime opportunity, and I hope our community pours in to take advantage of it.”
The action starts Friday, Dec 19, with teams Finland and Germany facing off.
Team USA’s first game is on Sunday, Dec 21, against Germany.
