Family Freedom Center hosts holiday market

DULUTH, Minn.– Right on time for the holidays, the Family Freedom Center gave entrepreneurs the chance to show off their products.

The holiday market is filling the halls of the family center full of local vendors.

Throughout the afternoon, entrepreneurs of all ages showed off items such as baked goods, earrings, wreathes, and sweatshirts.

“My favorite part about this is really just how diverse all of these entrepreneurs are in terms of the products they make, their backgrounds and really just bringing their own creativity to it. We have youth entrepreneurs, we have adult entrepreneurs, some older adult entrepreneurs as well,” said John Aaron Bell, Executive Director at Family Freedom Center.

Family Freedom Center staff said, many of the entrepreneurs are just starting out.

And it’s a great opportunity for a sense of community that’s otherwise difficult to find.

“I love having the ability to provide a space for people to just show up, show out, market themselves again, network with other individuals, because sometimes being an entrepreneur seems very, very lonely and feels like you’re like, the only one doing it,” said Cashmere Hagbourne, Director of Development, Family Freedom Center.

The Family Freedom Center is an organization dedicated to empowering black community members and giving them a space to learn about and celebrate their culture.
