Superior Police: Woman suffers ‘significant lacerations’; Man arrested for attempted homicide
SUPERIOR, Wis. — A woman suffered “significant lacerations” during a domestic-related stabbing Wednesday in Superior, according to Chief Paul Winterscheidt.
The call for help came in around 1 p.m. in the 2800 block of Ogden Avenue.
“Upon arrival, officers located a 44-year-old Superior woman suffering from significant lacerations. Officers also located and took into custody the suspect, a 41-year-old Superior man, without further incident,” Winterscheidt said in a news release Wednesday evening.
The victim was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. A condition was not reported by authorities Wednesday, but the chief said she is expected to survive.
The suspect was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on preliminary charges of attempted homicide and substantial battery.
The Douglas County District Attorney’s Office will review the case to determine whether formal charges are warranted.
FOX 21 does not normally name suspects until they are formally charged.
