Shoppers hunt for holiday gifts one book at a time at Fitgers Bookstore

DULUTH, Minn. — As Christmas inches closer, many Americans are scrambling to pick up last-minute gifts.

One Duluth store staying busy this holiday season is the Fitger’s Bookstore. Aside from books, their most popular item this year is gift cards. Which they say gives shoppers an easy way to support local businesses and give back to the community.

“We love when people come in and prefer to shop local. We love that people can find stuff that they’re looking for that you know, is maybe sold out online,” said Fitger’s store manager, Jennifer Jubenville.

With holiday sales holding steady and festive spirit in full swing, there’s something for everybody at the store.

“It’s just been a great, really great season, and I think, you know, people are looking for an escape, and a great way to escape is by picking up a really good book and getting lost in the pages,” said Jubenville.

For those interested in shopping, the store will be open again on the day after Christmas.
