World Juniors Pre-Tournament comes to a close
DULUTH, Minn. — Hockey lovers from all over filled the Amsoil Arena as the U.S. faced off against Finland, bringing the World Juniors Pre-Tournament Series to a close.
The tournament opened last Friday in Duluth with Finland facing Germany and continued Sunday with the U.S. taking on Germany. Both the U.S. and Finland went into tonight’s game coming off a win over the weekend, which set the stage for an intense final match.
Now that the pre-tournament series has ended, the World Junior Championship final rosters are expected to be announced Dec. 24. Following that, the Championship will begin Dec. 26 and continue through Jan. 5.
“It’s wonderful to come here and watch Finnish hockey, and you know, we normally don’t get to see that in Canada, so it’s really fun to be able to come and watch Finnish players play hockey,” said Eeva Niemi. attendee.
