Chester Bowl teaching kids to ski and snowboard for free

DULUTH, Minn.– With winter break in full swing for kids, many of them also took advantage, of a chance to hit the slopes, at Chester Bowl.

For the next five days, kids of all ages will keep pencils down, and skis and snowboards up as they navigate everything about learning how to shred the powder.

The kids will conquer the bunny hill and eventually graduate to the big slopes.

One of the instructors said, she was once in their shoes, and it feels great to mentor them.

“Skiing is really hard. It’s a really hard sport, and it can be really scary sometimes going down the hill. And so, no matter how long it takes, we’re just happy to get everyone out and make sure that everyone learns how to do it. I’ve had some kids who started on the bunny hill day one by day five. They’re like, zooming down the big hill,” explained Samantha Laderman, ski instructor at Chester Bowl.

Lessons are free to anyone with a Chester bowl season or day pass, but registration is required, in advance.
