UMD Forward Max Plante Named Alternate Captain for U.S. National Junior Team

Plante will don the red, white, and blue for Team USA at the 50th World Junior Championship tournament.

ST. PAUL, Minn.- UMD forward Max Plante was named an Alternate Captain for the U.S. National Junior Team.

Plante will don the red, white, and blue for Team USA at the 50th World Junior Championship tournament.

Plante is not the only Bulldog suiting up for Team USA.

Defenseman Adam Kleber will also skate in the tournament.

Both Kleber and Plante skated for the Junior team last year, where they took home a gold medal.

On Friday, Team USA opened up its quest for another gold medal, facing off against Team Germany.

Max Plante scored the first goal for the contest to give Team USA a 1-o lead.

Team USA picked up the 6-3 win over Team Germany.
