DULUTH, Minn. — The Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force (LSVOTF) executed a series of warrants on Wednesday in an anti-drug trafficking operation.

According to officials, the operation was aimed at targeting members and associates of the Black P Stone street gang operating in the Twin Ports.

During the one-day operation, 10 warrants were executed and 24 people arrested.

Officials say those arrested were responsible for bringing large quantities of illegal drugs and violence into the Twin Ports.

During the operation, law enforcement seized:

  • $28,609 in U.S. currency
  • 330.2 grams of methamphetamine
  • 138.62 grams of fentanyl
  • 79.33 grams of cocaine
  • 1 illegal gun

Investigators say they first became aware of people involved in the trafficking in May 2023.

LSVOTF members then identified suspects who officials say were not only involved in drugs, but also using violence and coercion to maintain their drug enterprise.

To date, 48 people have been arrested in connection with this case.

Some involved have been linked to the Black P Stone street gang out of Harvey, IL.

14 different law enforcement agencies were involved in the operation, including the Duluth and Superior police departments, the FBI, the DEA, and BCA.
