HERMANTOWN, Minn. — Minnesota State Senator Grant Hauschild announced on Monday that he will be running for re-election.

Hauschild’s announcement comes during his 3rd year of his current term, representing Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District.

During his announcement Hauschild reflected on his contributions to Northeastern Minnesota, from tax relief to supporting trades and union workers.

Hauschild says his goals remain the same, and prioritizes the importance of supporting and funding rural communities.

Hauschild also says he aims to be the voice that District 3 deserves.

“I represent such a large body of mass, the size of Massachusetts, that those people demand a voice equal to those in the Twin Cities and the suburbs that are growing and growing each and every day,” Sen. Hauschild said. “So my work matters because we need a voice that’s in the majority, who can be there and have that voice at the table.”

The District 3 election will be a rematch from 2022. Hauschild will again run against Andrea Zupancich, who is the mayor of Babbitt.

Zupancich lost the 2022 election by 703 votes.
