#6 UMD Men’s Hockey to Jump Back into NCHC Play at St. Cloud State
UMD is currently seven points ahead of SCSU in the NCHC standings.
DULUTH, Minn.- For the first time since November, the UMD men’s hockey team is coming off a sweep.
Interestingly enough that team that they swept in November is their opponent this weekend.
The Bulldogs hit the road for the short trip to St. Cloud to battle the Huskies.
Recent history has been on UMD’s side in the head to head meeting as the Bulldogs have won seven of their last eight matchups against the Huskies.
Head Coach Scott Sandelin says in the 2nd half of the season every conference series is important for his team.
“It’s going to be playoff hockey from now until the end of the year. I mean obviously St. Cloud’s had a good start to their 2nd half too. They won a tournament, split last weekend but it gets real, it gets real,” said Sandelin.
“I’m excited to use some extra space in St. Cloud, they have a Olympic rink there. So, just kind of you know be poised with the puck and just try to make a lot of plays,” added defenseman Adam Kleber.
UMD is currently seven points ahead of SCSU in the NCHC standings.
Puck drop of game one is Friday at 7 PM.
