Cabin on Lake Vermilion deemed total loss after fire
GREENWOOD TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A cabin on Lake Vermilion was deemed a total loss after a fire.
According to officials, around 1:20 p.m on Wednesday, they were dispatched to a cabin fire after a snowmobiler saw smoke on Mead Island.
Upon arrival, officials learned the caretaker started the furnace for the property owner, who was going to arrive later.
The caretaker then left the property, and the cabin caught on fire.
The cabin was deemed a total loss.
No one was in the cabin at the time of the fire, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
