3rd grader sells hot cocoa to support Chum

DULUTH, Minn. — On Monday, nine year old Amy Ray hosted a hot cocoa stand in support of Chum.

She sold cups of cocoa for $2 at her stand at Hartley Nature Center. All proceeds will be donated directly to Chum Duluth to support its services and programs.3rd Grader Sells Hot Cocoa To Support Chum

Her fundraising goal of $100 was quickly surpassed from selling cocoa and receiving donations.

“I have a hot chocolate stand, and I’m going to use the money that I make from it, and I’m going to give it to a homeless shelter,” Ray said. “I like to help people, and I know I’m helping people, and I like doing that, so it feels fun.”

This is Amy’s second time hosting a hot cocoa stand, last year she raised money for a preschool that burned down during wildfires in California.
