Jerky Off fundraiser held to benefit cancer survivor

WEST DULUTH, Minn. —  The Spice and Tea Exchange hosted its 3rd annual Jerky Off fundraiser on Saturday.

People gathered at the all-American club in West Duluth.

Different vendors made their own jerky for people to try, with 15 flavors of jerky being entered.

At the end of the event, the winner was announced at the caddy shack.

Every year, the owner of Spice and Tea Exchange donates the money raised to a cancer survivor or someone currently battling cancer.

“What I hope for is that, as a cancer survivor, we have an opportunity to share some good energy and to just share the message of supporting people once they get through their cancer journey. And just have a good time,” said Event Founder, Dennis Thielke.

Thielke is a two-time cancer survivor himself and said its heart warming feeling to give back
