Cutest Puppy Contest

Previous contestant in the Cutest Puppy Contest

DULUTH, Minn. — Fitger’s will be paws-itivly full of furry friends this Saturday.

The annual Beargrease cutest puppy contest is back!

Up to 40 puppies will be competing to be top dog.

The event hopes to raise money for the Beargrease Sled Dog race.

Attendance and voting on the pups are free but merchandise, raffles and donation opportunities are available to help support the race.

“What’s really important is just the fun that we’re having in January. So what if the weather is bad? So what if we’re getting a snowstorm? So what if it’s cold? Just come on down, come inside. And if there isn’t a puppy in this place that makes you smile, there’s something wrong with you.” said Tami Tanski Sherman, Fitger’s Mall Manager.

There are still spots available for puppies aged 4-9 months.

Vaccinations are required and registration is $10.

Register on the Beargrease website, walk in registration may be available day of if spots are still available.

All pups entered will get a swag bag full of treats, toys, and more.

“The swag bag from Nutra Source is absolutely amazing. So, they sent us all the product, and we bagged it all up for everybody. Just the registration alone is $10 for the puppies, the swag bag far exceeds what you’re paying for the registration fee. So, it’s definitely worth it.” said Jamie Parent, Co-Owner, A Place for Fido.

During the event, only dogs entered in the contest will be allowed in Fitger’s.

The contest itself takes place from 11 am to 1 pm.

Awards will be presented at 1:30.
