Ethan Dahlmeir Preparing to Step In as UMD Men’s Hockey Goaltender
Dahlmeir has played in three games so far this season for UMD.
DULUTH, Minn.- In just a few weeks, the UMD men’s hockey team will be without their starting goaltender Adam Gajan.
That’s because Gajan is set to represent Slovakia at the upcoming Winter Olympics in Italy.
UMD will turn to Ethan Dahlmeir in the meantime.
He’s a transfer from Miami of Ohio and has already seen action in three games this season.
In those three contests, number 35 registered 59 saves with a saves percentage of .894.
Dahlmeir says he’s ready to step into a bigger role in the coming weeks.
“Never been put in a position where I haven’t played in like the first five months of the season. So it was a little challenging for me to go through that. But, I think I got a lot better in practice and continue to push myself to get better everyday,” said Dahlmeir.
“He’s 2-0 and hopefully he gets more comfortable. You know having the two starts and playing two full games and not just a half a game or a period. Obviously that’s a good thing,” said Sandelin.
UMD begins a series with Western Michigan Friday at 7:07 pm.
