DULUTH, Minn. — Positively 3rd Street Bakery announced a new campaign to raise donations for Minneapolis residents affected by ICE.

The bakery announced that all profits until Feb. 1, will be donated to the International Institute of Minnesota, which will use the funds to buy groceries or provide rent relief for families affected by the ongoing ICE-related activity.

The small business said that Minnesota is one big community, and that it’s everyone’s responsibility to help out a neighbor in need.

“As a state, this is our community, and it’s Minnesota first, and so when we see our fellow neighbors, even though they’re down in the cities, being affected like this, we have to do something,” said one of the bakery’s Worker/Owners, Ryn Elliott. “It’s not ‘we should or anything like that’, it’s like ‘we have to.'”

In addition to the donations, Positively 3rd Street was one of the Twin Ports businesses that closed on Jan. 23, as part of the state-wide “ICE Out of Minnesota” campaign.
