Duluth Denfeld Boys Hoops Once Again in Mix for Section 7AAA Title

Denfeld is currently 9-5 and are battling teams like Grand Rapids and Superior for the top spot in the Lake Superior conference.

DULUTH, Minn.- The Duluth Denfeld boys basketball team is coming off a historic season in 2025, which resulted in their first state tournament appearance since 2004.

Fast forward to this year and the Hunters are back in the mix to make the final eight.

Denfeld is currently 9-5 and are battling teams like Grand Rapids and Superior for the top spot in the Lake Superior conference.

Head Coach Phill Homere likes where his team is at but he as well as his players know there is plenty of work to do in the coming weeks.

“I think the biggest thing is we just have to stay focused. We can’t lose sight of the goal and we know that even though we’re 14 games in. I don’t think anyone is really putting us on their radar, which is great for us. Because we want to come up and be the underdogs and be able to take care of business that way. So I think we’re just trying to keep our guys, keep them confident to understand that we have a goal in mind. Now together, let’s accomplish that goal,” said Homere.

We’ll have much more on the Hunters and one of their standouts Carter Brown in this week’s Northern Star. That airs Wednesday night at 9 PM.
