Residents pack Duluth City Hall protesting ICE activity

DULUTH, Minn. — Duluth Residents gathered at a packed City Hall on Monday night protesting ICE activity.

The community members gathered at the city council meeting to express their disapproval of ICE’s presence in the Northland and Twin Cities.

This comes after Veterans Affairs Registered Nurse, Alex Pretti, was shot and killed by Border Patrol Agents over the weekend.

This is the second fatal shooting involving ICE this month in Minneapolis.

“You give empty words but fail to act. I’ve brought concerns to you as a member of the public about dpd interfering with my ability to observe entail ice agents. I brought you a story about ice agents leading observers straight to my home in an act of blatant intimidation, and you did nothing,” said Duluth Resident, Eleanor Dolan.

Emotions ran high at Monday night’s meeting; however, everyone remained respectful.
