Driver extricated from fiery propane truck crash in Burnett County

BURNETT COUNTY, Wis. —  A propane truck crash in Burnett County briefly left the driver trapped inside.

Officials say on Wednesday at around 12:53 p.m., they received a report of a crash at the intersection of County Road H and State Road 70 in Dewey Township.

That is about 28-miles Southeast of Hayward.

A pickup truck traveling north on County Road H failed to stop at the stop sign at Highway 70 and hit a propane truck traveling east.

The propane truck caught on fire and rolled over onto its side, trapping the driver.

Eventually, the driver was extricated from the cab by a detective before emergency services arrived.

The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

The intersection where the crash happened was shut down until 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The crash remains under investigation.
