Chester Bowl kicks off Alpine Race series

DULUTH, Minn. — The Chester Bowl Improvement Club kicked off its first Alpine Race of the winter season.

Today’s race is the first of 5 races in the series designed to give kids ages 3 to 16 a fun introduction to the sport.

The event consisted of three beginner-friendly races, trophies for every participant, and free waxing. Chester Bowl Staff say these races are possible thanks to all the volunteers and sponsors, including Continental Ski and Bike, Park Dental, NAPA Auto Parts, Lake County Supply Company, Ski Hut, and the Lions Club.

“It’s really important, especially in the winter, as people kind of start to source into their home and cuddle up, to really get outside and keep staying active and find joy in the winter season, when it’s so cold, and we want to do nothing,” said Delaney Kreager, programs manager for Chester Bowl.

The series continues next week, Sunday, Feb. 8, and you can register through their website.
