#10 UMD Men’s Hockey to Meet Another Top 10 Foe in #3 North Dakota
UMD is aiming for their first home win over UND since 2020.
DULUTH, Minn.- For the 3rd straight weekend, the UMD men’s hockey team will take on a top eight team.
The Bulldogs have come close in their last four outings but have fallen short to both Western Michigan and Denver.
UMD will try to change their recent string of bad luck against the Fighting Hawks of North Dakota this Friday.
It’s the 2nd meeting this season between the two squads. Back in October, UMD took game one 4 to 3 but fell in game two, 5 to 1.
Head Coach Scott Sandelin says he’s not discouraged with his team given their recent outings.
“You could be playing really good hockey, which I think at times we have. We just haven’t won and it’s been a play here, a play there, a mistake here, a mistake there. And the teams we’re playing are good enough, they capitalize. Hopefully we can turn that table a bit moving forward,” said Sandelin.
“Kind of frustrating but you just have to keep pounding the stone and come to practice the next day. Know that the process is kind over everything and if you keep sticking to the process things will ultimately flip,” added defenseman Ty Hanson.
UMD is aiming for their first home win over UND since 2020. Puck drop is at 7:07 PM on Friday.
