Lake Superior Magazine takes on new ownership
DULUTH, Minn. — One of Lake Superior’s longest-running magazines is beginning a new chapter with a new publisher.
Duluth publisher Linda Nervick is the new owner and publisher of Lake Superior Magazine.
“I’ve been in publishing for 30 years, and I’ve worked with Lake Superior magazine twice in the 90s and in the teens, and I’m really excited to be the new publisher-owner,” said Nervick.
The magazine and its retail space are headquartered in the Skywalk on West Superior Street. The publication first began in 1979 as Lake Superior Port Cities before becoming its current title in 1986.
Over the decades, Lake Superior Magazine has built a loyal readership across the Upper Midwest and around the world, covering all things Lake Superior, with stories on travel, history, lifestyle, business, the environment, and events.
Konnie Lemay has been working for Lake Superior Magazine for nearly 30 years.
“Linda already knows the basics of the magazine itself, but, you know, we have to say too that she’s got some fresh ideas for new things and new ways to approach things, and so that will be very exciting,” said Lemay.
“I feel like this has come to fruition. It’s gone full circle,” said Nervick. “I came into publishing at Lake Superior magazine, 1996 and 30 years later, here I am. It’s, it’s an honor to be here. I can’t wait to see what we’re going to do.”
It’s safe to say there’s plenty to do and much to talk about for decades to come when the name of your magazine is all about the largest of the Great Lakes.
