Suspect in December Officer involved shooting found competent to stand trial

SUPERIOR, Wis. —  The suspect in a December 7 officer-involved shooting has been found fit to stand trial.

In a competency hearing on Thursday, court documents say that the judge declared Dylan Charles Edward Wallace to be presently competent.

This means his trial will move forward.

Wallace is being accused of shooting a police officer before ramming his vehicle into Superior Middle School is being charged with multiple felonies.

Wallace is being charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, domestic abuse involving strangulation and suffocation, criminal damage to property, and discharging a firearm on school grounds.

Wallace is set to appear in court again on March 23, 2026.
