Fond du lac Tribal & Community College hosts Nursing & Healthcare Expo

CLOQUET, Minn. — Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College held a Nursing & Healthcare Expo on Monday.

The expo is a part of a ‘Campus Visit Days’ series, which aims to get students and community members involved at the college.

The expo allowed current students and visitors to talk with health care professionals about career opportunities.

Students could also learn about education paths, as well as scholarships and reimbursements.

Current nursing students said the expo provided a chance to hear about different aspects of health care.

“A lot of them are similar faces, and we get to kind of poke around and ask them all the questions, which is nice,” Lauren Heintzelman, FDLTCC nursing student said.

“I think that it’s very helpful because they’re very friendly, and just more inviting, and then also helps you with deciding where you want to go,” Roxanne Peterson, FDLTCC nursing student said.

“They’ve been in our shoes before, like some of them have said that they definitely have been the associates in nursing and then worked on to further advance or chose a career path,” Carissa Gariepy, FDLTCC nursing student said.

Next up in the series, on March 11, the college will be hosting a career fair geared towards local high school students.
