Minnesota Power customers to receive one time bill credit
DULUTH, Minn. — Minnesota Power sold lands surrounding many of its hydroelectric reservoirs, resulting in a one-time bill credit for customers.
Through 2025, those land sales totaled $72 million, which is expected to be about $109 for the average residential customer.
The credit will appear on bills later this year.
Minnesota Power also announced its CARE program expansion, which provides a discount to income-eligible customers, and a proposed On-Track program designed to help customers behind on their payments get back on track.
They are also finalizing plans to implement $50 million in bill credits and another $10 million in a residential energy bill mitigation fund that would help customers with weatherizing, fuel switching, energy efficiency, and conservation.
