Lake Superior Zoo illuminates winter nights

DULUTH, Minn. — The Lake Superior Zoo is hosting multiple luminary night walks.

The walks began over the weekend with 1,000 glowing ice luminaries lining the zoo’s walking paths, creating a magical winter experience for visitors. While warmer temps have caused many of those ice luminaries to melt, staff have replaced many of them with traditional paper bag luminaries to keep the walk glowing. The event features an underwater pop-up lounge, food, and an opportunity to feed some animals.

“It’s really great seeing the zoo in a new light at nighttime, with, you know, 1000 luminaries around,” said Noah Hobbs, Interim Executive Director of Lake Superior Zoo.

The luminary walks run through Feb. 22.
