Birkie Week sees some changes due to weather

HAYWARD, Wisc. — American Birkebeiner organizers have announced a few adjustments due to the weather.

They have postponed Wednesday’s (2/18) Open Track to Thursday (2/19).

Events that are scheduled to take place Thursday on Hayward’s Main Street, will now be held at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead in Cable, Wisconsin.

Event Director Kristy Maki says the Birkie trail is in great shape but the golf course that other events are held on is not.

Organizers decided it was best to reschedule and move the events for safety.
