Man accused of sexually assaulting person he met on Facebook dating app
SUPERIOR, Wis. – A Superior man is accused of raping a person he met on the Facebook dating app.
Charging documents say Anthony Ndubuisi Onovo, 30, was chatting with the victim on the app for a few weeks. The alleged victim agreed to visit Onovo at his home to learn more about each other. The victim said they made it clear “nothing was happening” if they came over. Charging documents say the victim messaged Onovo, writing, “I wouldn’t want to do anything other than get to know you.”
The two watched a movie together, but then Onovo allegedly forced himself on the victim. The victim said they loudly protested and believed neighbors might have heard yelling.
The victim said they were able to leave the apartment following the assault and immediately headed to a hospital.
Onovo has been charged with 2nd Degree Sexual Assault/Use of Force.
Onovo was given a $3,000 cash bond – and must not have any future contact with the victim.
He is scheduled to be in court again on February 23, 2026, for a status conference.
