Wild State Cider hosts fundraising event

DULUTH, Minn. — Wild State Cider hosted a fundraiser where each drink purchased supports a local non-profit.

For each beverage sold at the event $1 will be donated to the Great Lakes Aquarium. The event also featured activities, including a spin-the-wheel game for a chance to win prizes and a raffle for an aquarium prize package. The package includes items from the aquarium’s gift shop, such as can koozies.

“As a nonprofit aquarium, we do rely on the support of our community. So to be able to do our variety of educational programs and various offerings and to bring different groups to the aquarium, having community support is integral to having an aquarium,” said Katie Pease, Project Manager, Great Lakes Aquarium.

The aquarium attends events like this year-round, some to raise funds and others to provide community outreach, all focused on education and connecting people to the Great Lakes.

“At the start of this evening, we had a lovely person come by and share just stories of favorite animals at the aquarium and bringing their children to the aquarium,” said Katie. “And those are the kind of connections we love making out in the community. So we’re very appreciative to have this opportunity tonight with Wild State Cider.”

Each donation directly supports animal feeding and care all year round.
