Duluth FC and Superior FC enter new management agreements

DULUTH, Minn. — Twin Ports soccer teams, Superior City FC and Duluth FC will now be operated under the same management company.

Northland Sports Management will run operations for both clubs.

The recently announced management agreement means both clubs will share the same professional leadership but will be independent from each other.

The agreement is not a merger, and the teams will keep their current identities.

The agreement aims to streamline operations, reduce expenses and direct more resources to the game and community.

“It’s World Cup year, so this is a great year for the growth of soccer. I think that it’s just been growing slowly in this area. So the more opportunity that we can provide for the local athletes and even for local coaches, people wanting to come in and work on sports management, grow their careers and things like that. It’s a great opportunity for them to come in, get experience on a bigger platform,” Kaden Bergman, Managing Partner of Northland Sports Management said.

The new management aims to keep the clubs original identities but hope to increase the game day atmosphere.

“We really want to keep everything very authentic in how it has been in past seasons. The big change for this season will be adding more professionalism to the game day atmosphere and environment. We’ll have new food options, we’ll have an expanded merch booth, and it’ll just be a lot of new, exciting additions for our game days,” Atle Rennen, Managing Partner of Northland Sports Management said.

Northland Sports Management prioritizes local player development and hopes to grow the sport in the Twin Ports.
