Twin Ports clothing swap promotes style and sustainability
SUPERIOR, Wis. — Many refreshed their wardrobe without spending a dime at a community clothing swap in Superior.
Ritual Marketplace opened its space for the event hosted by Jill Joyce and Tiersa Wodash. Transforming its space into a hub for sharing style and sustainability. From shoes to jewelry, and outerwear to hats, there was something for everyone, with no minimum donation required.
The swap encourages people to pass along pieces they no longer wear, giving them a second life in someone else’s closet. After the event, remaining items are donated to the Damiano Center, Safe Haven, and the Center for Changing Lives.
“In a time when there’s sometimes challenges in finding the community together in a way that resonates with anyone, everyone needs clothes, and so making it something that’s accessible to everyone, and a public event is, is something that is an honor to be able to do,” said Jill Joyce, Co-host of the clothing swap.
The swap that began as a small gathering of friends has since grown into a biannual event that gives back to the community.
