American Heart Association kicks off ‘Hard Hats with Heart’ Campaign
DULUTH, Minn. — The American Heart Association hosted its inaugural kickoff to the ‘Hard Hats with Heart’ Campaign.
It’s all about improving the health and well-being of construction workers by promoting healthy food options, encouraging physical activity during breaks, and educating employees on the signs of heart disease.
The American Heart Association says 343,000 construction workers have already been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease.
“The statistics around cardiovascular health, especially how it pertains to the construction industry,” said Jon Niksich, control manager for The JAMAR Company. If you look at those statistics, it’s really obvious that there is a need for greater awareness, greater education, and so that’s why this campaign is so important.”
The American Heart Association says that prioritizing cardiovascular health in the workplace can lead to a safer, healthier, and more productive workforce.
