Duluth parking rates likely to increase in March 2026
DULUTH, Minn. – The cost to park on Duluth’s streets is going up from $1.50 per hour to $2.00 per hour.
This change will be implemented in phases, one parking zone at a time, and will be completed sometime later in spring – estimated to be around March 15, 2026.
The City of Duluth’s Parking Services Division is removing all coin-operated parking meters.
Once the conversion to digital payments via the Park Duluth app is fully in place across Duluth, the rate will increase.
Changing rates are for single-stall, on-street parking. There are no changes for parking garages.
Duluth’s Parking Commission approved the rate increase late in 2025.
Motorists will now have three options to pay for single-stall parking: by using the Park Duluth app’s payment integration, by QR code, or by text-to-park.

In zone locations where a payment kiosk is available, cash transactions will still be accepted.
Motorists will still be able to use the coin-operated meters until they’ve been physically removed and replaced with Park Duluth zone identifier signage.
Once the signage is installed, motorists will be expected to pay electronically for their parking using one of the three digital payment options on the signage.
