Mentor North kicks off 3rd annual recruitment movement

SUPERIOR, WIS. — Mentor North kicked off its 3rd annual recruitment movement at Thirsty Pagan Brewing.

The organization is asking the community to nominate 100 people who inspire and uplift others to mentor youth in the Twin Ports. Mentor North Leaders say nominating someone helps extend the circle of support for young people who are in need of a caring adult in their corner.

“I want to say that mentoring is so doable,” said Samantha Smingler, development and communications coordinator for Mentor North. “We ask for you to connect with your youth one time a month. So two to four hours a month is not only going to change and impact the life of that youth, but it matters to the mentor too.”

Looking ahead, Mentor North will host its nomination celebration on March 24, 2026, at Wussow’s Cafe.
